So, after my last post I went upstairs and lied on the couch awhile. Slowly, my roommates began to trickle into the room and we all sat at the big table in the center of the kitchen. We had a great conversation, in my room are the following people: Two Islamic girls from Moracco, a South Korean, a French girl, and someone else from another european country which I, regrettibly, forget. For some of them Japanese is their fourth language, I am in awe of what other people have acomplished.
Following this myself and two of the girls decided to go for a walk - I still haven't found sunglasses. We walked past the college, and the super market I go to and down to a street with a Ramen store (traditional style, right on the street), an Udon store (similar to the Ramen) and a Sushi place with the revolving sushi. We all agreed to go back there. On the way home I stopped at the super market and got some of my favorite tea, milk tea. It's delicious, but now that I think about it, it likely has caffene... maybe I shouldn't have drank it so close to bed?
On our way home we passed what is affectionaly now being called "The Garden" amoung the people in the seminar houses after dark. People were being roudy, I'm glad I didn't go. It's a park inbetween three of the seminar houses with a beer/liquor vending machene on the street. The machiene doesn't card, so everyone gets beer and sits in the park and just drinks. I passed when I was invited.
I'm getting nervous about my host family... Everyone in the dorm is very nice and very cool, not to mention I'm close to campus. Whereas, my host family is likely an hour away by train, and I've heard some really bad stories about host famlies from other students who've had friends who've done the program before. Everyone says they'd never do it again. I'm really nervous, I don't want things to be bad. But, I suppose if worst came to worst I could move back into a Seminar House from what I'm told... Still, very nervous.
The lack of internet is beginning to get annoying, I want to have access to skype.
Long day tomorrow, it's time for bed now.
