About to quest to Kyoto

Well we are about to be the gaijin (foreginer) fish pod as we follow a handfull of Japanese to Kyoto. I'm excited to learn how the train system works, so I can be confident to use it on my own. I'm also excited to travel out of my 10 mile radius that I've grown accustomed to and see the sights.

The international student building is full of people right now, so we've escaped to the quieter and tons cooler computer lab.

Part of the Japanese conservation is minimal use of things that use electricity, as such most buildings have little to no air conditioning from what I've found! (good you're comming in the winter huh mom?) So after you've been walking around outside to walk into an only slightly cooler building is dissapointing.

I picked up my student ID, I'll post a picture later.

Time to go!

  1. I seriously question your comment about the AC. I was in tokyo, which is equally as hot as Osaka, during June and I found the AC to be just fine. I found that most businesses have AC, the subways have AC, the trains have AC, etc...

Maybe Osaka doesnt have AC the way that Tokyo does. Or maybe its something with your school trying to save money.
