The Afternoon Time

I took my placement test, it was hard. The listening recognition went really fast. I think I got about 50% right, which should land me in at least a 102 class if not a 201 class for speaking. Parts of it really stunk, like the translation part, if you couldn't translate the entire sentence they didn't want you to do any of it. So I got screwed on a few forgetting one vocab word. But no matter what class I'm in I'll be okay and learn a bunch I'm sure.

I feel better today again about the Homestay. I'm telling myself that people who've had problems with it are people who wanted to party all the time. I'm here to learn and study, not party. Not to say I don't want to go out, but it's not my priority here. Apparentally I'll find out some information on the homestay family today, so cross your fingers for me.

I'm headed off to find the art instructor, I think I need approval and to take a mini test with him to get placed in the more advanced class. This is one test I'm not too worried about. I already have two semesters of pottery under my belt, I should be fine.

I'll be busy from now on until about 5:30pm today. I can't wait to get settled into my homestay. I want to unpack and get settled, and I can't do that until I have somewhere to do so. Perhaps I'll begin to feel more comftorable after I do that.

  1. I hope your homestay family is quaint, cute, and chatty. They will love you, so you don't have to worry about that. If you get a chance, look up Toyoko and Nobuo Onishi. They are like family and their kids all took piano from my mother. Aiko is over there right now, I think, visiting her parents. Have a wonderful day, sweetie. It's hard for me to remember whether you're writing your blog at night or during the day.xoxoxo i love you.
